EP8 The Underbelly and Escaping From Fake Cops With LOGAN HICKS

OPEN 24/7 BROADCAST SZ1/EP8 @LOGANHICKSNY

A real pleasure to spend some time talking to Logan Hicks, about exploring and art. It’s especially cool to get the dirt on what being an artist in 2025 is truly like.

“It's really hard doing something that you've never done before and that you can't relate to something else. There's some similarities in exploring, but for the most part, You have to treat everything as a brand new experience. 'cause I mean, you could die. You go into the subway, you go into a place where you can fall, like you can literally die. So it feels like everything is new for, you know, for the first time. And I appreciate that.” -Logan Hicks

Logan Hicks, stencil artist, photographer and explorer recounts a wild and terrifying escape from a Chicago rooftop pursued by a gun-wielding loon pretending to be a cop. (People are nuts, mind your own business) Logan dives into the iconic Underbelly Project, a secretive, underground art exhibit in an abandoned subway station involving 103 artists. He highlights the significance of certain artworks and the unwritten rules of exploring. Along the way, Logan reveals a few favorite New York food spots and some tracks to set the vibe for editing his photos.

You can find Logan on IG @LOGANHICSKNY and you can see his incredible art on his website, and walls and galleries all over the planet.
